What people say
In summer 2017 i participated in a felting course al settimo cielo. I very much enjoyed the wild surroundings, the very warm welcome and the fantastic care with heavenly dishes directly from the region, aromatic and full-flavoured. Sometimes we made an excursion in the late afternoon to pittoresque towns and villages nearby. A place to collect yourself and to daydream.

We have been in seventh heaven, al settimo cielo, in the second half of September 2015. Where the dirt road seems to end, you find an idyllic domain, where Edith and Willem live and where they have created a wonderful, peaceful place for their guests.
We had asked them to organize a combination of peace and quiet on the one hand and creative, culinary, cultural and historical activities on the other.
They have made an interesting package of tours and activities, partially in mutual agreement, partially as a surprise, that fitted us like a tailormade suit. That way, we have been on spots, that we never would have found as a general tourist. Sometimes we had to drive quite a while, but that didn't seem to bother them at all.
The allodgement and the hospitailty was superb. We have felt at home from the very first to the very last moment. Grazie mille!

For the second time we have had a perfect week in seventh heaven, al settimo cielo.
We have been warmly welcomed, delicious Italian food was offered, heavenly wines as well. The fabulous surroundings, overwhelming peace and quiet and as a new element: the ecological swimming pond did the rest to make us happy.
We love this place, it is heaven on earth. The domain is a bit remote, appr. 8 minutes drive from the asphalted road and then you are immersed in nature. If you are happy you spot a porcupine, a badger or a wild boar at night, on your way back to your lodgment.
Edith and Willem, the owners, had invited Harm Harms and Meinie Wardeniers (HAWAR) for a felting course end of June 2017.
On the patio, under the seeds of the wisteria, but also in the bordering, newly restored cave the participants have been busy with wool. Each day we have learnt new techniques ,very inspiring! The patio is not only perfect to work, but it is also a very pleasant place for eating ' al fresco'. Three times a day we enjoyed the heavenly meals and wines, that have been offered. One night it has been rainy. So we withdrew ourselves in the newly restored cave, which definitely wasn't a punishment.
Apart from pampering you on the domain, Willem and Edith are gladly willing to tell you about other places where you can find delicious food, Etruscan treasures, nice shops, markets and all kind of special places to visit.
We'll come back, that's for sure!

"We stayed at Alsettimocielo over the winter 2011/12 period for three and a half months. If there was a heaven on earth then this is the place to be. A stunningly tranquil setting to structure my book disturbed only by the wildlife. Observing nature through the seasonal changes (even through one of the harshest winters of recent years!) we found meditative, spiritual and rewarding. We left here with a new language, a love of Italian food and a refreshed zest for life.
Edith and Willem have made us both feel welcome and have been both hlpfue and accommodating since the day we arrived. As tour guides, they are informative and passionate towards sharing their knowledge and love of this beautiful area of Italy. As multi linguists they possess a wicked, dry sense of humour! We hope to return to 'Seventh Heaven' in the near future.

"...Once in heaven you are warmly welcomed by the celestials, Willem en Edith. They offer you a good glass of wine, delicious coffee and gorgeous meals in a superb Italian atmosphere. This paradise is a nice place to stay: enjoyable, relaxed, lay-back, lots of fun and good company..."

" This place is worth every bit of its name 'alsettimocielo' (= in seventh heaven). I have been there in June 2010 and I have enjoyed the thorough hospitality of Wim&Edith. They do their utmost to secure everybody a pleasant and enjoyable stay [...] I highly recommend a stay in seventh heaven."
Doke Vemer Dordrecht, the Netherlands
" 'al settimo cielo' is a fantastic estate in the Umbrian hills. Orvieto, Todi, Perugia and Arezzo are in the very vicinity. Rome, Siena and Florence are less than one hour away. Excellent accommodations and sanitation.
The piazza between the main house and the Etruscan caves is highly worth mentioning. A wonderful kitchen is made in one of the Etruscan caves. In the splendid climate of Umbria you can enjoy deligthful meals on the piazza till late at night. Absolutely highly to reccomend. Availability of transport is essential."

"Apart from Edith's and Willem's impressive hospitality the scenery incites and invites to focus on several levels. Looking is the foundation of all art! Countless subjects to work on occur to my mind."
