Surroundings

The lively and somehow tourist city of Orvieto is within a stone’s throw. It has the most wonderful gothic cathedral you can imagine. Besides you could visit a lot of lesser known but even more beautiful small cities, within half an hour’s reach. By train Rome as well as Florence are very easily accessible one hour to Rome and 1,5 hours to Florence. Of course you can also go by car, but that is less advisable.

As a daytrip we can recommend artistic attractions like Parco Bomarzo. Another recommendable daytrip is the Giardino dei Tarrocchi of Niki de St.Phalle.

We are in the midst of the Etruscan territory. You can see their tracks everywhere, a lot of tombs and tomb fields. Famous Etruscan museums are to be found In Chuisi and Orvieto are. A nice day trip could be Saturnia with its sulphur baths, which were already visited by the Etruscans. You could combine that trip with a visit to the Giardino dei Tarocchi. Also more near are loads of thermal baths.

For who prefer physical activities, there are numerous possibilities for walking. Our neighbors have a center for equestrian sports. The Bolsena lake, which is the deepest volcanic lake of Europe, is very good for swimming. The same goes for the Lake of Corbara , which is a reservoir.
